Venue
The venue for the conference is the "Salle académique" of the University of Namur's Faculté de Philosophie et Lettres, rue de Bruxelles 61 in Namur, within easy walking distance of Namur's train station.
Travel
International delegates arriving at Bruxelles-Midi train station (via Thalys, ICE or Eurostar connections) can take a direct train from Bruxelles-Midi to Namur (journey time around 1h10min). For delegates travelling from any of Belgium's neighbouring countries, we strongly encourage train travel.
People arriving at Brussels National Airport now have several options: there is a direct train link between Brussels Airport and Namur, but it runs only once every hour (at 16 minutes past the hour, starting from 6.16 am up to the last such direct link leaving at 9.16 pm), taking 1h09min (the one minor exception is the 8.17am train which leaves a minute later). Alternatively, there are several connections involving a change at Bruxelles-Nord train station, from where there is a direct train to Namur (total journey time around 1h20min; the last such train leaves at 10.24 pm). On arrival at Charleroi Airport (optimistically referred to as "Bruxelles South"), you can take a bus (around 20 minutes) to the Charleroi-Sud train station, from where direct intercity trains to Namur take between 30 and 36 minutes (slower omnibus trains take considerably longer).
To look up train timetables and itineraries, check the Belgian Railways website. The name of the airport's train station (needed to look up itineraries) is "Brussels Airport".
Train tickets in Belgium are valid for any train throughout the day, and their pricing does not depend on advance booking or time of day, so if you are buying Belgian train tickets separately, you can safely buy tickets in advance as soon as you know your dates of travel. Among the options most convenient for travellers from abroad are home print-out tickets bought via the website, or tickets bought in the SNCB app (which generate a QR code for ticket inspectors to scan). The app is available for both Android and iPhone devices.

Accommodation
Invited contributors to the workshop will be staying at the ibis Namur Centre Hotel (Rue du Premier Lanciers 10), a fifteen minute walk or short taxi ride from both the train station and the conference venue (see the map immediately below; to see a larger map click the "View larger map" logo in the top right corner of the insert; the full map includes the locations of the train station, hotel and university, as well as pedestrian itineraries).

Belgium boasts a number of historical cities well worth visiting aside from Namur including, but not limited to, Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Dinant, Ghent, Leuven, Liège, Mechelen, Ypres.
